Many of us say, being in college is like a bicycle ride, you
must keep your balance in order for you to keep moving. One must be consistent
in cycling the pedal, to move beyond your journey; and, one must have a deep
sense of alertness and presence of mind to overcome fear of tripping and
eventually, fell out of the bicycle. Also, one must have focused and have
control, to know when to stop and when to ride again the bicycle. With this, it
may help a one single individual to arrive in his/her destination, and as a
college student; to achieve his/her crowning glory: the most precious diploma.
As an Adamsonian, his/her journey to college life has ups
and downs. They face struggles that test their patience and determination to
finish their studies. Even though they have a lot on their plate right now,
they still manage to show their embedded Vincentian core values, especially on
their academic aspect.
Character.
Adamsonians are known for their courage and humbleness, as they battled through
their academic disputes, they still managed to stand up on what they believe
in. They seek for advices or opinions of others for them to improve their
decision-making. Even though, temptations are everywhere such as cheating,
cutting of classes, cramming, and unreasonable procrastination; Adamsonians still
manage to fight all the enticement revolving around their student life.
Also, the Character of Adamsonians are shown through how can
they cope up to their environment by which they can adapt to. For example, when
an Adamsonian is challenged academically, they tend to adapt and blend in to
the other university’s culture and norms.
Competence. The
students of the university are also known to be hardworking, they cope up and
promote a healthy competition in terms of their academics. With the
university’s strong competency, students really strive for their academic
competence to help them become a successful professional when they graduated to
the university.
Also, the Competence of each Adamsonian is embodied through
their works as they gave all their efforts and best to fulfill one’s task with
the pinch of resourcefulness and creativity.
Charity. With the Adamsonians urge to help the needy,
they tend to give a helping hand to their fellow students to do their
academics. Each student of Adamson is enriched with St. Vincent De Paul’s life
teachings to help the people in need or the people who are struggling to cope
up with the daily situations of every student in need.

With these types of personality Adamsonians are searching
for things on what they can study or learn about. Here are tips on how to improve
and help you on your studying habits as a student. It will help you be a better
student as you conquer your battles through school.
First is you need to keep your gadgets, television and other
distractions away from you, with this method it can enable you to focus on your
academics. Keeping yourself away from distractions can be a huge help on
keeping up with the lesson you are trying to study.
Second, go and eat healthy foods, with fruits and vegetables
it can give you enough source of vitamins that can help your body cope up and
also it can give your brain the sufficient power to function while studying
your lesson. Also drinking enough water can hydrate your body as you go through
a late night sleep trying to give your best learning your readings. Drinking
coffee is also a factor to keep you awake while you are reviewing.
Third, always have discipline you need to manage your time
in order for you to finish and save time and energy. If you tell yourself that
you have to study for certain subject always keep in mind that as a college
student you have to go through the circumstances of academic works.
Lastly, always pray, trust yourself and give your best shot
and do not forget to keep the faith with God as you answer each number on your
exams confidently.
Now that we gave you tips on how to improve your studying
routine we also added some places in where you can study in your alone time or
with your closest friends. These places are around the campus and they are easy
to go to and also it is convenient for every Adamsonian.
The ST Library is
a convenient place to let students study and chill as they let time pass by
waiting for their next class. The library is air-conditioned and has a bag
counter where you can leave your belongings but get them after your review
time. Silence is a must inside the library to avoid disturbance to the fellow ‘klasmeyts’ inside the place.
If you prefer to study while eating, then Café San Vicente is for you. This
restaurant located at the CS Garden. This local spot is home to the freshest
pastries, sandwiches, and coffee at an affordable price. You can study here
because it is peaceful and quiet.
For a spacious table and you have a lot of friends, ST Quadrangle has a lot of benches and
tables so that you can share the seat and fun times you can have while delving
into something educational with your pals.
A lot of students stay on this landmark because they are
listening to the news and music provided by the Falcon Radio Station. The CS Walkway is a waiting shed for the
students who would like to relax and interact with fellow students. You can
study here while charging your electronic devices and it has a vendo machine if
you get thirsty while reading your notes.
Other than these three places, the one and the most common ‘tambayan’ by the Adamsonians, is the CS Garden. The ambiance in this area is
refreshing because of the plants and trees surrounding the place. You can read
your notes here while observing the people passing by, or just plainly
appreciate the view in front of you.
Now that you have the tips and places to study inside AdU,
always remember that you can do it. Do not doubt yourself because you are
capable of the things that you dream for your own, have enough courage and hope
so that you can conquer the struggles the student life may have. Support your
